Experience the beauty of the scenic Pacific Ocean, while enjoying a vacation in one of the three historical keeper's quarters at North Head Lighthouse located in Cape Disappointment State Part. From North Head, you can view miles of both the Oregon and Washington coastline and beautiful vibrant sunsets. The park is located at the base of Washington's popular Long Beach Peninsula and offers visitors blocks of colorful shops, great seafood, small museums, horseback riding and an expansive continuous sand beach. You can enjoy beachcoming, whale watching and exploring the area's rich natural and cultural history. The nearby coastal towns of Ilwaco and Long beach feature special events and festivals spring through fall.
The North Head lighthouse was built to guide mariners coming from the north into the treacherous Columbia River. The three Lighthouse Keepers' residences are within walking distance of the lighthouse. The Head Keepers' quarters has hardwood floors extending from the living room into the lovely grand dining room and library. The century old two story Victorian-period house features a comfortable living room with TV and DVD player, a spacious tiled kitchen with modern appliances and three bedrooms; one bath; kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, dining and cooking utensils; attractive dining room; cozy living room with TV. All three residences provide the necessary linens.
