Browns Point Lighthouse is situated at the entrance to Commencement Bay leading from Puget Sound to the Port of Tacoma. The 1903 historic three bedroom keeper's cottage offers you a chance to be a lightkeeper while enjoying waterfront views and recreation right outside your front door.
Rent this 3-bedroom historic lighthouse keeper's cottage on the shores of Puget Sound. Relax and watch sailboats, walk on the beach, fish from the shore, or sit on the porch and enjoy spectacular sunsets. Because this 1903 cottage, restored and furnished with period furniture, is on the National Historic Register, it is a living museum. So, by staying here you will experience a part of the history of this Washington Landmark. The cottage and other facilities are in a lighthouse park so you and up to six people will become honorary lightkeepers. As such your “tour of duty” includes duties to raise and lower the flag, log in weather and shipping traffic and welcome visitors to the Cottage and Museum on Saturday afternoons (summer only). The Tacoma and south Puget Sound area offer a wide variety of interesting attractions including day trips to Mt Rainier or a ferry ride to Point Robinson Lighthouse and Seattle; visits to world class museums, like the Chihuly Museum of Glass, Lemay Car Museum and Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Golf and fine restaurants are nearby.
